Ruzizi
Rusizi District and Ruzizi III Energy Limited (REL), a special-purpose company established to develop, construct, and operate the 206 MW Ruzizi III Regional Hydropower Project (Project), are pleased to declare the cut-off date and the forthcoming publication of the list of persons identified for compensation in relation to land acquisition for the Ruzizi III Regional Hydropower Project activities on the Rwanda side.
This process follows the land acquisition activities undertaken for the Project, including the land and asset inventory and valuation conducted from June to September 2025 in accordance with applicable Rwandan law, the Project Resettlement Action Plan, and applicable international standards.
Cut-off Date Declaration
The Rusizi District and REL hereby declare the cut-off date for eligibility for compensation and resettlement assistance. The cut-off date is set as 8 June 2026, marking the official close of the eligibility window:
In line with that, this ensures a fair and transparent compensation process for all PAPs.
Information Disclosure
The date for publishing the list of PAPs to be compensated will be communicated after the meeting with all PAPs. The Lists will be available at the following locations:
